The list below shows the civil registration districts in the county of Avon between 1974 and 1996.
For the purposes of these pages, "Avon" refers to the non-metropolitan county of that name, which was created on 1.4.1974 from parts of the counties of Gloucestershire and Somerset.
The county of Avon was abolished on 1.4.1996, to become parts of the counties of Gloucestershire, Somerset, and Bristol.
