REGISTRATION DISTRICTS IN CORNWALL

The list below shows the civil registration districts in Cornwall since 1837. The same districts were used to compile the censuses returns for the years 1851 to 1911.

For the purposes of these pages, "Cornwall " refers to:

the ancient county of Cornwall (1837–89)
the administrative county of Cornwall (1889–1974)
the non-metropolitan county of Cornwall (1974–2009)
the unitary authority of Cornwall (from 2009)
the Isles of Scilly.
