Acton (near Weaverham) was a township in Weaverham Parish, Eddisbury Hundred (SJ 5975), which was renamed Acton Bridge in 1967. In 1936 the civil parish was
extended to include the hamlet of Milton from Weaverham cum Milton.
Including the hamlets of Acton Bridge, Acton Cliffe, Hall Green and Lower Green.
The population was 210 in 1801, 424 in 1851, 516 in 1901 and 550 in 1951.
Acton Bridge, Methodist Chapel, Forest Road (Wesleyan). Built ca.1834, rebuilt 1878.
