ACTON GRANGE

• A township in Daresbury chapelry of Runcorn Parish, Bucklow Hundred (SJ 5884). In 1933 the area north of the Manchester Ship Canal was transferred to the civil parish of Penketh [Lancashire], and in 1936 the remainder was incorporated into Walton civil parish.
• Including the hamlet of Middleton Grange.
• The population was 139 in 1801, 172 in 1851 and 145 in 1901.

• Runcorn, All Saints (C of E). The ancient parish church for Acton Grange.
• Daresbury, All Saints (C of E). An ancient chapelry in Runcorn parish.
• Stockton Heath, St. Thomas (C of E). The parish church for Acton Grange from 1838.
• Walton, St. John the Evangelist (C of E). The parish church for part of Acton Grange since 1879.
