Alvanley was a township in Frodsham Ancient Parish, Eddisbury Hundred
(SJ 4973), which became a civil parish in 1866.
It includes the hamlets of Commonside, Four Lane Ends, Teuthill (part), and
Yarrangall Green.
The population was 314 in 1801, 312 in 1851, 319 in 1901, and 287 in 1951.
