AUDLEM

• Audlem was a township in Audlem ancient parish, Nantwich hundred (SJ 6643), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• It includes the hamlets of Bunsley Bank, Chapel End (part), Copthorne, Corbrook (part), Cox Bank, Daisy Bank, Gorse Croft, Kinsey Heath (part), Little Heath, Longhill (part), Raven's Bank (part), Salford, Swanbach, West View, Woolfall (part).
• The population was 965 in 1801, 1591 in 1851, 1455 in 1901, and 1315 in 1951.

Boundary Changes

• 1888 March 24 — Lost a detached part to Hankelow (40 acres, pop. 14 in 1891, including Coole Hall Farm)
• 1990 April 1 — Lost parts to Buerton (near Audlem) and Hankelow

Churches and Chapels

• Audlem: St. James the Great (Church of England). The ancient parish church for the township of Audlem.
• Audlem, Baptist Chapel. Built in 1840.
• Cox Bank, Jubilee Methodist Chapel (Primitive). Built in 1861.
• Audlem, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Built in 1862.
• Audlem, Methodist Chapel (Primitive). Built in 1871, closed in 1943. Registers of baptisms 1878-1926 are at the Cheshire Record Office.
