BACKFORD
- Backford was a township in the ancient parishes of Backford and Stoak,
Wirral hundred (SJ 3972), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- It includes the hamlets of Backford Cross (part) and Strawberry.
- The population was 138 in 1801, 155 in 1851, 141 in 1901, and 119 in 1951.
