BICKERTON

• Bickerton was a township in Malpas Parish, Broxton Hundred (SJ 5153), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• Including the hamlet of Gallantry Bank.
• The population was 270 in 1801, 398 in 1851, 323 in 1901, and 256 in 1951.

CHURCHES AND CHAPELS

• Malpas, St. Oswald (C of E). The ancient parish church for Bickerton.
• Bickerton, Holy Trinity (C of E). Built in 1840 as a chapel to Malpas St Oswald; becoming the parish church for Bickerton, Broxton, Bulkeley, Duckington, Egerton and Larkton in 1843. Registers of Baptisms 1847–1960, Marriages 1868–1987 and Burials 1847–1948 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office
