Bosden was a detached part of the township of
Handforth cum Bosden in Cheadle parish and
Macclesfield hundred (SJ 9387), which became a civil parish in 1877.
1877 December 17 — Created from part of
Handforth cum Bosden (492 acres, pop. 1962 in 1881)
1900 September 30 — Abolished and incorporated into
Hazel Grove and Bramhall (pop. 2570 in 1901)
