BOSLEY
- Bosley was a township in Prestbury ancient parish, Macclesfield hundred
(SJ 9266), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- It includes the hamlets of Higher Works, Key Green, Kiln Hill, Lower Works,
Minn End, Mountpleasant, Primrosebank and Smithy Green.
- The population was 417 in 1801, 568 in 1851, 353 in 1901, and 421 in 1951.

Churches and Chapels
- Prestbury: St. Peter (Church of England). The ancient
parish church for the township of Bosley.
- Bosley: St. Mary the Virgin
(Church of England). An ancient chapel to Prestbury, St. Peter,
which became the district church for Bosley in 1883.
- Bosley, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Founded in 1832. Memorial inscriptions
have been published by the FHS of Cheshire (1995).
