BUERTON (near Audlem)

• Buerton was a township in Audlem Parish, Nantwich Hundred (SJ 6842), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• Including the hamlets of Chapel End (part), College Fields (part in Shropshire), Hankins Heys, Kinsey Heath (part), Longhill (part), Moblake, Pinder's End, Raven's Bank (part), Three Wells, Sandyford (part), Woolfall (part).
• The population was 405 in 1801, 444 in 1851, 408 in 1901, and 405 in 1951.

• Audlem, St. James the Great (C of E). The ancient parish church for Buerton.
• Buerton, United Free Gospel Chapel. Built in 1885.
• Buerton, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Built in 1891, closed in 1975.
