- Byley (or Byley cum Yatehouse) was a township in Middlewich ancient parish, Northwich hundred (SJ 7068), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- It includes the hamlets of Drakelow and Yatehouse Green.
- The population was 130 in 1801, 110 in 1851, 199 in 1901, 217 in 1951, and 202 in 2001.
