CHEADLE & GATLEY
- Cheadle and Gatley was a civil parish (SJ 8688) created in 1930 by uniting
Cheadle with Stockport Etchells.
- Since 1974 it has been an unparished area in the county of Greater
Manchester.
- The population was 31,511 in 1951.

- 1930 March 31— Created from the whole of
Cheadle (3515 acres, pop. 8949 in 1921) and Stockport Etchells (1572 acres, pop. 2087
in 1921)
- 1936 April 1 — Gained part of Handforth (231
acres, pop. 93 in 1931) and lost part to
Wilmslow (19 acres, pop. 31 in 1931)
