Coddington was a township in Coddington Parish, Broxton Hundred (SJ
4456), which became a civil parish in 1866.
The population was 110 in 1801, 95 in 1851, 103 in 1901, and 115 in 1951.

and Coddington. Registers of Baptisms 1680–1992, Marriages 1680–1998 and
Burials 1680–1992 have been deposited at the
Cheshire Record Office (but
all registers 1718–1820 are missing). Bishop's Transcripts survive from 1585.
