COOLE PILATE

• Coole Pilate was a township in Acton Parish, Nantwich Hundred (SJ 6546), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• The population was 39 in 1801, 43 in 1851, 53 in 1901, and 70 in 1951.

• Acton, St. Mary (C of E) is the main parish church for Coole Pilate. A small area on the southern boundary of the township is served by Audlem, St. James the Great (C of E)..
• Coole Pilate, Methodist Chapel (Free). Built in 1850.
