CUDDINGTON (near Weaverham)
Cuddington was a township in Weaverham Parish, Eddisbury Hundred (SJ
6070), which became a civil parish in 1866.
In 1936 it was extended to include the village of Sandiway from Weaverham cum Milton civil parish.
Including the hamlets of Bryn, Delamere Park, Golden Nook, Pettypool (part), Pinfold Hollows, Ravensclough and Stonyford.
The population was 212 in 1801, 316 in 1851, 465 in 1901, and 2898 in 1951.
CHURCHES AND CHAPELS
Weaverham, St. Mary (C of E). The ancient parish church for Cuddington.
Sandiway, St. John the Evangelist (C of E). Built in 1903 as a chapel to Weaverham, created a separate parish in 1935, serving Cuddington and parts of Oakmere , Over and Weaverham . Registers of Baptisms 1921–1935 and Marriages 1906–1956 have been deposited at
the Cheshire Record Office (no burials).
