Dunham on the Hill was a township in Thornton ancient parish, Eddisbury
hundred (SJ 4672), which became a civil parish in 1866.
It includes the hamlet of Morley Bridge.
The population was 260 in 1801, 332 in 1851, 282 in 1901, and 446 in 1951.
