Eaton was a township in Astbury ancient parish, Northwich hundred (SJ
8665), which became a civil parish in 1866.
In 1936 part of Eaton was added to Congleton
in 1936, and the hamlet of Havannah was added to Eaton from
Buglawton civil parish.
The population was 184 in 1801, 584 in 1851, 346 in 1901, and 242 in 1951.

Buglawton (32 acres, pop. 34 in 1931) and part of Congleton
(less than 1 acre, pop. 0 in 1931), and lost part to Congleton
(79 acres, pop. 120 in 1931)
