Faddiley was a township in Acton ancient parish, Nantwich hundred (SJ
5752), which became a civil parish in 1866.
It includes the hamlets of Larden Green and Woodhey Green.
The population was 224 in 1801, 314 in 1851, 227 in 1901, and 193 in 1951.

Churches and Chapels
Acton: St. Mary (Church of England). The ancient parish
church for the township of Faddiley.
Woodhey, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Founded in 1809, rebuilt on a new
site in 1873, closed in 1980. Registers of Marriages 1899-1977 have been deposited
at the Cheshire Record Office.
