GOOSTREY

• Goostrey is a civil parish created in 1936 by the union of Goostrey cum Barnshaw and Blackden
• It includes the hamlets of Barnshaw, Jodrell Bank (part), Shawcroft and Winterbottom.
• The population was  794 in 1951.

Boundary Changes

• 1936 April 1 — Created from the whole of Blackden (749 acres, pop. 121 in 1931) and Goostrey cum Barnshaw  (1795 acres, pop. 508 in 1931)
