GREAT NESTON
- Great Neston was a township in Neston ancient parish, Wirral hundred
(SJ 2877), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- The civil parish was abolished in 1894 to become part of Neston
cum Parkgate.
- It included the hamlets of Clayhill, Hinderton, Moorside and part of Parkgate.
- The population was 1486 in 1801, 1524 in 1851, and 2201 in 1901.
