Hulme Walfield was a township in Astbury Parish, Northwich Hundred
(SJ 8465), which became a civil parish in 1866.
The population was 122 in 1801, 131 in 1851, 108 in 1901, and 143 in 1951.

Hulme Walfield, St. Michael (C of E). Built in 1855, becoming the parish church for Hulme Walfield, Radnor and Somerford Booths in 1878. Registers of Baptisms 1852–1972 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record
Office, where Bishops Transcripts 1878–1916 (incomplete) are also held. Registers of Baptisms from 1972 and Marriages from 1879 are held at the church.
Somerford Booths, Methodist Chapel (Primitive, later Wesleyan). Built in 1835.
