Iddinshall was a township in St. Oswald's ancient parish, Broxton hundred
(SJ 5362), which became a civil parish in 1866.
The population was 18 in 1801, 22 in 1851, 21 in 1901, and 6 in 1951.

(Church of England). Built in 1872 as a chapel to Chester: St. Oswald,
which it succeeded as the district church in 1881.
