Kingsley was a township in Frodsham ancient parish, Eddisbury hundred
(SJ 5475), which became a civil parish in 1866.
It includes the hamlets of Blakelees, Commonside, Crewood (part), Finney Hill,
The Hurst, The Slack, Waterloo, Whartons Lake and Wigans Lake.
The population was 661 in 1801, 1067 in 1851, 1066 in 1901, and 1503 in 1951.
