LITTLE LEIGH

• Little Leigh was a township and chapelry in Great Budworth ancient parish, Bucklow hundred (SJ 6176), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• It includes the hamlets of Shutley Common and Willow Green.
• The population was 380 in 1801, 407 in 1851, 366 in 1901, and 528 in 1951.

• Great Budworth: St. Mary & All Saints (Church of England). The ancient parish church for the township of Little Leigh.
• Little Leigh: St. Michael & All Angels (Church of England). An ancient chapel to Great Budworth: St. Mary & All Saints, becoming the district church for Little Leigh in 1834.
• Little Leigh, Baptist Chapel.
