Lower Bebington was a township in Bebington Parish, Wirral Hundred (SJ 3384), which in 1922 was incorporated into the new civil parish of Bebington cum Bromborough.
Included the hamlets of New Ferry, Port Sunlight, Spittle Heath, Trafalgar and part of Woodhey.
The population was 263 in 1801, 1492 in 1851 and 8398 in 1901.

Bebington, Poulton cum Spital, Storeton and Tranmere. Registers of Baptisms 1558-1961,
Marriages 1558-1971 and Burials 1558-1909 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office.
New Ferry, St. Mark the Evangelist (C of E). New Chester Road. Founded 1866 as a chapel to Bebington, becoming a parish church in 1888 serving part of Lower Bebington.
Registers of Baptisms 1866-1948 and Marriages 1889-1949 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office (no burials).
