PEOVER INFERIOR

• Peover Inferior (or Lower Peover) (pronounced Pee-ver) was a township and chapelry in Great Budworth ancient parish, Bucklow hundred (SJ 7474), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• It includes the hamlets of Free Green (part), Lower Peover (part) and Smithy Green.
• The population was 131 in 1801, 121 in 1851, 144 in 1901, and 111 in 1951.
