Peover Inferior (or Lower Peover) (pronounced Pee-ver)
was a township and chapelry in Great Budworth Parish, Bucklow Hundred (SJ 7474),
which became a civil parish in 1866.
Including the hamlets of Free Green (part), Lower Peover (part) and Smithy Green.
The population was 131 in 1801, 121 in 1851, 144 in 1901, and 111 in 1951.
