MARLSTON CUM LACHE
Marlston cum Lache was a township in St. Mary on the Hill Parish,
Broxton Hundred (SJ 3862), which became a civil parish in 1866.
In 1936 the hamlets of Five Ashes.
Hough Green, Lache, Saltney (part) and Westminster Park were transferred from
Marlston cum Lache to
Chester .
Also including the hamlet of Rough Hill.
The population was 87 in 1801, 157 in 1851, 103 in 1901, and 102 in 1951.
CHURCHES AND CHAPELS
Chester, St. Mary on the Hill (C of E). The ancient parish church for Marlston cum Lache.
Lache cum Saltney, St. Mark (C of E). Built in 1854 as Holy Epiphany , a separate parish from 1855 serving Marlston cum Lache (Cheshire) and Saltney (Flintshire).
Replaced by St. Mark in 1893. Registers of Baptisms 1853–1984 and Marriages 1857–1981 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record
Office .
Lache, St. Clare (Roman Catholic), Hawthorn Road. Built in 1960.
