OFFERTON

• Offerton was a township in Stockport parish, Macclesfield Hundred (SJ 9188), , which became a civil parish in 1866.
• In 1900 the whole of Offerton was added to Hazel Grove cum Bramhall (although most of this area became part of Stockport civil parish in 1935).
• The population was 351 in 1801, 352 in 1851, and 558 in 1901.

CHURCHES AND CHAPELS

• Stockport, St. Mary (C of E). The ancient parish church for Offerton.
• Offerton, St. John (C of E). Marple Road. A chapel to Stockport, St. Alban. Registers of Baptisms from 1969 are held at the church.
• Offerton, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Built in 1887.
