• Plumley (formerly Plumbley) was a township in Lower Peover chapelry of Great Budworth ancient parish, Bucklow hundred (SJ 7275), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• It includes the hamlets of Henshaw Green and Holford.
• The population was 303 in 1801, 376 in 1851, 333 in 1901, and 483 in 1951.

• Great Budworth: St. Mary & All Saints (Church of England). The ancient parish church for the township of Plumley.
• Lower Peover: St. Oswald (Church of England). An ancient chapel to Great Budworth, serving the township of Plumley.
