POYNTON WITH WORTH

Poynton with Worth is a civil parish created in 1881 by renaming the civil parish of Poynton.
It includes the hamlets of Clumber, Coppiceside, Hockley, Lowerpark, Midway (part), Newtown, Petre Bank, Poynton Green, Woodside, and Worth.
The population was 2544 in 1901, and 5483 in 1951.

Poynton: St. George (Church of England). An ancient chapel to Prestbury: St. Peter, which became the district church for Poynton and Worth in 1871.
