SAUGHALL MASSIE

• Saughall Massie was a township in Bidston ancient parish, Wirral hundred (SJ 2588), which became a civil parish in 1866.

• The civil parish was abolished in 1933 to become parts of Wallasey and Grange.

• It included the hamlets of Carr Houses and Three Lanes End (part).
• The population was 98 in 1801, 176 in 1851, and 186 in 1901.

• 1915 April 1 — Gained parts of Hoylake cum West Kirby (60 acres, pop. 95 in 1921) and Moreton (near Wallasey) (7 acres, pop. 0 in 1921), and lost parts to Hoylake cum West Kirby (49 acres, pop. 25 in 1921) and Moreton (near Wallasey) (69 acres, pop. 8 in 1921)
• 1933 April 1 — Abolished and divided between Grange (478 acres, pop. 31 in 1931) and Wallasey (413 acres, pop. 718 in 1931)
