Somerford was a township in Astbury Parish, Northwich Hundred (SJ 8459),
which became a civil parish in 1866.
In 1895 the whole of Radnor was added to
Somerford.
Including the hamlets of Black Firs and Loachbrook (part).
The population of Somerford was 142 in 1801, 79 in 1851, 98 in 1901, and 531 in 1951.
