Stanthorne was a township in Davenham ancient parish, Northwich hundred
(SJ 6866), which became a civil parish in 1866.
It includes the hamlet of The Wallange (part).
The population was 120 in 1801, 156 in 1851, 206 in 1901, and 136 in 1951.
