THELWALL

• Thelwall was a township in Runcorn Parish, Bucklow Hundred (SJ 6587), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• In 1936 the whole of Thelwall was added to Grappenhall.
• The population was 309 in 1801, 347 in 1851, and 481 in 1901.

CHURCHES AND CHAPELS

• Runcorn, All Saints (C of E). The ancient parish church for Thelwall.
• Latchford, All Saints (C of E). The parish church for part of Thelwall since 1866.
• Thelwall, All Saints (C of E). Founded 1737 as a chapel to Runcorn, becoming the parish church for part of Thelwall in 1870. Registers of Baptisms 1782–1995, Marriages 1847–2001 and Burials 1784–1982 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office.
