Threapwood was an extra-parochial place (SJ 4445), partly in Broxton
hundred [Cheshire] and partly in Maelor hundred [Flintshire], which
became a civil parish in 1866.
In 1896 the part of Threapwood in Flintshire was addedto Cheshire.
It includes the hamlets of Sarn (part) and Upper Threapwood.
The population was 256 in 1851, 305 in 1901, and 290 in 1951.

England). The district church for Malpas from 1968.
