• Thurstaston was a township in Thurstaston ancient parish, Wirral hundred (SJ 2484), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• Since 1974 it has been an unparished area in the county of Merseyside.
• It includes the hamlet of Dawpool.
• The population was 112 in 1801, 98 in 1851, 141 in 1901, and 151 in 1951.
