TILSTONE FEARNALL

• Tilstone Fearnall was a township in Bunbury Parish, Eddisbury Hundred (SJ 5660), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• Including the hamlets of Stages Platt and Tilstone Bank.
• The population was 130 in 1801, 155 in 1851, 184 in 1901, and 146 in 1951.

CHURCHES AND CHAPELS

• Bunbury, St. Boniface (C of E). The ancient parish church for Tilstone Fernall.
• Tilstone Fearnall, St. Jude (C of E). Founded in 1837 as a chapel to Bunbury, becoming the parish church for Alpraham, Tiverton and Tilstone Fearnall in 1901. Registers of Baptisms 1838–73 & 1889–1901, Marriages 1901–1997 and Burials 1848–73 & 1889–1901 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office.
