TIMPERLEY

Timperley was a township in Bowdon ancient parish, Bucklow hundred (SJ 7787), which became a civil parish in 1866.
The civil parish was abolished in 1936 to become parts of Altrincham, Hale (near Altrincham) and Sale.
The population was 588 in 1801, 1008 in 1851, and 3215 in 1901.

Bowdon: St. Mary (Church of England). The ancient parish church for the township of Timperley.
Timperley: Christ Church (Church of England). Built in 1849 as a chapel to Bowdon: St. Mary, becoming the district church for Timperley in 1852.
Altrincham: St. George (Church of England). A district church for part of Timperley from 1860 to 1911.
Altrincham: St. John the Evangelist (Church of England). A district church for part of Timperley from 1867.
Baguley: St. John the Divine (Church of England). A district church for part of Timperley from 1868.
Broadheath: St. Alban (Church of England). A district church for part of Timperley from 1911.
