TUSHINGHAM WITH GRINDLEY

• Tushingham with Grindley was a township and chapelry in Malpas Parish, Broxton Hundred (SJ 5245), which became a civil parish in 1866.

• Including the hamlets of Barhill, Bell o'th'Hill, Grindley and Grindley Brook (part).
• The population was 194 in 1801, 315 in 1851, 264 in 1901, and 217 in 1951.

• Malpas, St. Oswald (C of E). The ancient parish church for Tushingham.
• Tushingham, St. Chad (C of E). An ancient chapel to Malpas, becoming the parish church for Agden (near Malpas), Bradley, Chidlow, Macefen and Tushingham with Grindley in 1824. Registers of Baptisms and Burials from 1861, and Marriages from 1868 are held at the church. Bishop's Transcripts 1861–1872 are held at the Cheshire Record Office
• Tushingham, Methodist Chapel (Primitive).
