Weaverham (or Weaverham cum Milton) was a township in the
ancient parishes of Weaverham
and Whitegate, Eddisbury hundred (SJ 6172), which became a civil parish
in 1866.
It includes the hamlets of Beach Hill, Brown Heath, Copyhold, Gorstage, Grange
View, Owley Wood and Sandiway Bank.
The population was 1040 in 1801, 1529 in 1851, 1882 in 1901, and 5264 in 1951.

Weaverham: St. Mary (Church of England). The ancient
parish church for the greater part (2590 acres, pop. 1581 in 1871) of the township of Weaverham cum Milton.
Whitegate: St. Mary (Church of England). The ancient parish
church for the smaller part (1033 acres, pop. 104 in 1871) of the township of Weaverham cum Milton.
Sandiway: St. John the Evangelist (Church of England). Built in 1903 as a chapel to Weaverham:
St. Mary, becoming the district church for part of Weaverham in 1935.
