- Whatcroft was a township in Davenham ancient parish, Northwich hundred
(SJ 6869), which became a civil parish in 1866.
- The civil parish was abolished in 1988 to become parts of Byley, Davenham, Lach Dennis, Northwich
and
Rudheath.
- The population of Whatcroft was 85 in 1801, 68 in 1851, 141 in 1901, and 82
in 1951.
