WHEELOCK

• Wheelock was a township in Sandbach Parish, Northwich Hundred (SJ 7559), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• In 1936 the Wheelock Heath area was added to Haslington, and the remainder of Wheelock was added to Sandbach.
• Including the hamlet of Wheelock Heath.
• The population was 189 in 1801, 548 in 1851, and 685 in 1901.

CHURCHES AND CHAPELS

• Sandbach, St. Mary (C of E). The ancient parish church for Sandbach.
• Wheelock, Christ Church (C of E). A parish church from 1840, servising the townships of Betchton, Hassall,  part of Sandbach, and Wheelock. Registers of Baptisms 1843–1902, Marriages 1862–1924 and Burials 1843–1926 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office
• Wheelock, Baptist Chapel. Wheelock Heath.
• Wheelock, Methodist Chapel (Primitive). Built in 1868.
• Wheelock, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). ReBuilt in 1874.
• Wheelock, Congregational Church. Founded 1824.
