Wildboarclough (pronounced Will'berclough) was a township and chapelry in Prestbury Parish, Macclesfield Hundred (SJ 9869),
which became a civil parish in 1866.
In 1936 a small part of Taxal was added to
Wildboarclough.
Including the hamlet of Crag.
The population was 338 in 1801, 447 in 1851, 200 in 1901, and 168 in 1951.
Wildboarclough, St. Saviour. Founded 1873 as a chapel to Macclesfield Forest, becoming a parish church in 1906. Registers of Baptisms from 1873, Marriages from 1912,
and Burials from 1910 are held at the church.
