WINCHAM

Wincham was a township in Great Budworth ancient parish, Bucklow hundred (SJ 6875), which became a civil parish in 1866.
It includes the hamlet of Shores Green.
The population was 367 in 1801, 684 in 1851, 1054 in 1901, and 890 in 1951.

1889 March 24 — Gained a detached part of Marston (272 acres, pop. 18 in 1891, including Jackson's Fam and Barber's Farm)
1936 April 1 — Gained part of Pickmere (18 acres, pop. 21 in 1931) and lost part to Tabley Inferior (220 acres, pop. 7 in 1931)

Great Budworth: St. Mary & All Saints (Church of England). The ancient parish church for the township of Wincham.
Lostock Gralam: St. John the Evangelist (Church of England). The district church for Wincham from 1844.
Marston: St. Paul (Church of England). The district church for part of Wincham from 1875 to 1965.
Wincham, Methodist Chapel (Wesleyan). Built in 1846, rebuilt in 1875, closed in 1964. Registers 1869-1957 are at the Cheshire Record Office.
