WORLESTON

• Worleston was a township in Acton Parish, Nantwich Hundred (SJ 6555), which became a civil parish in 1866.
• In 1899 the whole of Alvaston was added to Worleston in 1899.
• In 1936 part of Worleston was added to Nantwich.
• Including the hamlets of Beambridge, Rease Heath, Mile End and Rookery. 
• The population was 269 in 1801, 337 in 1851, 485 in 1901, and 383 in 1951.

CHURCHES AND CHAPELS

• Acton, St. Mary (C of E). The ancient parish church for Worleston.
• Worleston, St. Oswald (C of E). Founded 1873 as the parish church for Aston juxta Mondrum, Cholmondeston, Poole and Worleston. Registers of Marriages 1875–2003 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office, where Bishop's Transcripts are held for the years 1873–1882 (incomplete). Registers of Baptisms and Burials from 2003 are held at the church.
• Worleston, Methodist Chapel (Free). Built in 1871, closed in 1969.
