Registration Districts in Norfolk

REGISTRATION DISTRICTS IN NORFOLK

The list below shows the civil registration districts in Norfolk since 1837. The same districts were used to compile the censuses returns for the years 1851 to 1911.

For the purposes of these pages, "Norfolk" refers to:

the ancient county of Norfolk (1837–89), including the county of the city of Norwich.
the administrative county of Norfolk (1889–1974), with the county boroughs of Norwich and Yarmouth
the non-metropolitan county of Norfolk (from 1974).
