February 2024

We wish King Charles III a refuah shlema. Long live the King.

In older news, JGSGB hosted the 43rd IAJGS conference in London in 2023. This was the annual International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies conference, and was the first such conference to be held in the UK since 2001 and the first in-person IAJGS conference since 2019. We believe that it was a great success; feel free to send your feedback to chair@jgsgb.org.uk.

If you'd like to read more, see JC article 1, JC article 2 and JC article 3.

Check out the conference special edition of Shemot too.

The 2024 conference will be held in Philadelphia from August 18th-22nd, 2024 and the 2025 conference will be held in Fort Wayne, Indiana from August 10th-14th, 2025Please save these dates in your calendar.

As well as IAJGS conferences, JGSGB life continues as normal. Please check the JGSGB Current Programme to see what we are offering in our programme of events, including virtual, in-person and hybrid meetings.

We are delighted to announce that the JGSGB library has a new home in central London and we will be open twice a month from January 2024. Visitors will be welcome to browse the collection and also receive help from our volunteers with family history research. Advance booking is essential. All enquiries to library@jgsgb.org.uk.

Best Regards,
