A glimpse into bygone times of a township on the Lancashire and Yorkshire border through a miscellaneous collection of articles, data and anecdotes.

Presented by Dorothy Hargreaves and Linda Briggs

After accumulating a large collection of information about the people and places in and around the area of Todmorden and Walsden, we decided to create a website so we could share it with others. We first met by chance in November 2002, both searching for our families and ancestors in the area, and discovered we have a mutual ancestor. From then onwards our family tree, like our friendship, has blossomed. Neither of us were strangers to Walsden. Each of us spent many happy days of our childhood visiting the village; oblivious to the part it was going to play in our later lives. The information on these pages was lovingly collected and we hope that it may be of help to anyone with an interest in the area. We would appreciate any contributions or suggestions for things you would like to see on the site.
