Wing Buckinghamshire One-Place Study

Wing is a large parish situated on a hill in the Vale of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, very near to Leighton Buzzard. The parish church of All Saints, where our ancestors were baptised and married, is Saxon in parts and would have witnessed a lot over the intervening millennium! The surrounding hamlets and properties include Ascott House (now in the care of the National Trust) which has been home to Wing’s prominent landowner families over the years including the Dormers and the Rothschilds. The neighbours may have been a little bit posh but most of the residents of Wing were humble agricultural labourers working on the surrounding farms.

On this site you will find a variety of genealogical information about the people of Wing, including explorations of various aspects of life in Wing gone by and an archive of transcriptions of primary records.
